Past seven mountains and seven rivers, on the edge of the forest, through a mist so thick, you could slice it with a knife, stands the minimalist cottage Podlesí. And although it was built almost half a century ago, a recent renovation infused the cottage with a smell of fresh newness and a typical Scandinavian style.

White walls and floors give the place a light freshness, which is balanced out by the black kitchen, fully equipped and with a view to forest that you can also relish from the huge window in the living and dining area. Curl up on the window seat, with a cushy soft sheep’s fur blanket underneath you and a glass of wine from the in-house wine bar in your hand. The owners have selected various dry domestic wines for your choosing. When the sun graces you with its presence, lounge on the terrace and take in the lovely view.

There are two bedrooms in the accommodation. In the smaller one there are two single beds, in the larger bedroom there is a double bed.In the living room there is a sofa, TV, dining table. In the kitchenette there is a fridge, microwave oven in which you can bake and grill, kettle, toaster, moka kettle and French press and of course crockery.

Podlesí is a place everyone will enjoy. The cottage sits close to endless hiking and biking trails, the area is phenomenal for cross country skiing and rock climbers flock to this region for many renowned climbs.

What to explore nearby

The surrounding area is full of rock formations (Dráteničky, Čtyři Palice, Devět skal), beautiful hamlets (Blatiny, Březiny a Křižánky) and day trip destinations (Žákova hora, pramen Chrudimky, meandry na řece Svratce, Santiniho barokní stavby ve Žďáru nad Sázavou).

A trip with the kids

A perfect day with the kids: a walk across the meadows to the popular Pohádková vesnička (Fairytale Village), topped off with a cone of delicious soft serve ice cream.

The cottage keeps the kids in mind. For the smallest of the small, an infant lounger is available; for toddlers, a high-chair is at your disposal; and for kids of all ages, there are toys aplenty. The cherry on top? A sandbox!

Snowy skiing

You’ll be happy to know that the cross country trails are maintained in the winter for your easy skiing, or you can visit the nearby ski slopes at Nové Město nad Moravou, Svratka or Hlinsko.
